Suzuki reveals Jimny Sierra Pickup Style concept
The Suzuki Jimny Sierra PickupJimny truck and new heavy duty off-road variant will be displayed at the Tokyo Auto Salon in January 2019
Suzuki will unveil a Jimmy Sierra Pickup Style concept version of its diminutive off-road SUV at the Tokyo Auto Salon in Japan.
The reworked version of the high-capability 4x4 that will be shown at the January 11-13 event features a rear pickup truck platform in place of the rear seats and boot, with the ride height of the machine also jacked up further.
The new concept features a number of design changes, including a retro-styled front grille that evokes previous generations of Jimmy along with a pair of front tow hooks. Suzuki says it also features custom ‘individual’ design details, including a yellow paint that features a wood panel effect in places.
The firm has also developed another variant of the SUV called the Jimmy Survive, which is intended as an even more extreme off-road vehicle.
As well as a raised ride height it features bigger tyres, steel plates on the front and rear bumpers, guards protecting the headlights and a rod rack that features protective bars extending down the Jimny’s window pillars.
Suzuki has given no indications if there are plans for either machine to make production. The Tokyo Auto Salon is Japan’s largest modified and tuned car show, making it likely the two Jimmy variants will remain one-off concepts.
