Jaguar F-Type Chequered Flag edition celebrates brand’s heritage
New interior and wheel options for the Chequered Flag celebratory editionSpecial-edition model marks 70 years of Jaguar sports cars, while standard F-Type gets model-year updates
Jaguar has released a new special-edition F-Type that marks 70 years since the first Jaguar sports car, the XK120, was produced and celebrates the brand’s motorsport heritage.
Based on the existing R-Dynamic trim level and available on both coupé and convertible variants of the F-Type R, the Chequered Flag package features a number of racing-inspired motifs.
Exterior upgrades include extended side sills and 20in gloss black alloy wheels, while the bodywork can be finished in Carpathian Grey, Fuji White or Caldera Red, with a black roof available on the coupé.
Changes to the interior come in the form of an Ebony suedecloth headlining, performance seats finished in embossed Windsor leather, chequered flag branding on the headrests and tread plates and a dark brushed aluminium centre console.
The package is available on F-Types with the entry-level four-cylinder engine and the supercharged 3.0-litre V6. Both come equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission as standard, while four-wheel drive is offered as an extra on the more powerful, 375bhp variant.
Alongside this, the standard F-Type R benefits from model year updates including changes to the damping system aimed at improving ride quality and modifications to the existing suspension parts to improve handling and durability. In addition, a rear-view camera and front parking sensors are now fitted as standard to all F-Types.
Prices for the F-Type Chequered Flag start from £62,335, and orders books are open now. The regular F-Type is priced from £51,925.
